Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said he is ready for reconciliation talks with Lebanon’s parliamentary leader.

Nasrallah, leader of the Shiite movement, told Lebanese newspapers in comments published Monday that he is ready to meet Saad Hariri, leader of the parliament’s Sunni pro-Western bloc, but has not yet been able to due to “security concerns.”

Israeli leaders have threatened to assassinate Nasrallah. Hariri’s father was assassinated in a truck bombing that has been blamed on Syria, a Hezbollah ally.

Nasrallah said the reconciliation would help Hezbollah fight Israel.

Also on Monday, Nasrallah, appearing on Iranian television, said that if Israel “launches a war against Lebanon, Syria, Iran or Gaza, it will have thousands of scores to settle,” Ynet reported. He added that Israeli aggression would have “unclear implications for the Zionists.”
