A photographic exhibition on Romanian synagogues is part of a multicultural arts festival in Transylvania.
The Proetnica festival, on display Aug. 21-24, celebrates the multi-ethnic history of the town of Sighisoara.
Photographs of synagogues in southern Transylvania will be exhibited in the town’s restored synagogue.
As many as 100 synagogue buildings stand in Romania, only half of them in use, even occasionally, for religious purposes.
