The Israeli tourist who stripped in public was admitted to a New Zealand mental hospital after an alleged assault, according to police.
The unnamed Israeli appeared in Hamilton District Court Saturday and was charged with assaulting a bar worker in the tourist town of Coromandel on the North Island the day before, The Associated Press reported.
She was charged with assault with intent to injure after allegedly putting out a cigarette on a bartender’s face. She was remanded to Waikato Hospital’s mental health unit.
Last week she staged a striptease in public after road workers whistled at her in the small town of Kerikeri as she was using a cash machine. She stripped naked, drew her money, dressed and walked away.
