Maryland’s governor is leading a delegation of local businessmen to Israel on an economic development mission.
The delegation, led by Gov. Martin O’Malley and made up of businessmen, state government officials and Jewish community leaders, will arrive in Israel Tuesday, the Israeli business daily Globes reported.
Maryland exported over $44 million in goods and services to Israel in 2006, according to Globes. About 30 Israeli companies have offices in Maryland, including biotech companies and defense contractors.
O’Malley previously visited Israel when he served as mayor of Baltimore.
