An Israeli was sentenced to 21 years in an Australian prison for drug smuggling.
Benjamin Rosenfeld, 47, was found guilty of importing more than 100 kilograms of Ecstasy from Haifa with a street value of up to $41 million.
Rosenfeld smuggled the pure form of the drug, also known as MDMA, in canisters used for tennis balls. They were hidden inside solar hot water tanks.
District Court Judge Anthony Puckeridge said Rosenfeld should remain at his current jail, where he has been providing support for other Jewish prisoners. He also noted that Rosenfeld has no family in Australia.
Rosenfeld will be eligible for parole in 2020.
