Dozens of Israeli right-wing activists rioted in the Jerusalem neighborhood of the Mercaz HaRav yeshiva gunman.
Chanting “death to the Arabs,” hundreds of young rightists flocked to Jabal Mukaber, an Arab district of east Jerusalem, late Sunday to stage a demonstration calling for the demolition of the home of Ala Abu Dhaim, who massacred eight students at Mercaz HaRav before being shot dead.
Israeli police were deployed in force and managed to stop most of the protesters from reaching the neighborhood, but dozens managed to avoid the dragnet and pelted Palestinian homes with rocks.
At least 10 of the rioters were arrested. One policeman was injured by a rock.
According to Israeli media, some local Arab youths turned out to protect their properties but authorities kept the confrontations from spiraling out of control.
