A prominent Arab-American organization joined the public outcry against Ann Coulter.
The political commentator’s recent remarks that Jews need to be “perfected” by becoming Christians is merely the latest in a string of recent racist and even misogynist remarks, said the executive director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, Kareem Shora.
Coulter had referred to Arabs recently as “camel jockeys” and said that if women lost the right to vote, there would never be another Democratic president. She was fired this month by National Review Online after writing that America should invade Arab countries, kill their leaders and convert everyone to Christianity.
“The comments are a reminder of attitudes of supremacy which in the past have facilitated genocides, including the Holocaust,” Shora said. “We call on Ms. Coulter to issue an immediate public apology and retraction of these bigoted comments.”
Coulter had made her remarks about Jews on the television talk show “The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch.”
