Jordan’s king urged Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to set a timetable for peace with the Arab world.In talks Tuesday in Akaba, Jordan, Abdullah II also warned Olmert to stop construction in areas conquered by Israel in the 1967 Six Day War, according to a statement from the palace quoted by Reuters. Olmert’s spokeswoman, Miri Eisen, told Reuters that the talks also focused on concerns regarding “the strengthening of
Hamas in Gaza,” as well as ways to bolster Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah.
