Representatives of the six major powers dealing with Iran’s nuclear capability met to discuss its failure to cooperate.Representatives of Russia, the United States, Britain, France and China the five veto-wielding members of the U.N. Security Council and Germany met Thursday in Berlin to discuss Iran’s non-compliance despite the latest Security Council sanctions.Earlier, the U.S. representative at the meeting, Under Secretary of State Nicholas Burns, had said the United States would give Iran until the June 6-8 summit of major industrial nations to comply, otherwise sanctions could be increased at that time.U.N. inspectors believe Iran is preparing to manufacture a nuclear weapon. Iran says its nuclear activity is strictly for peaceful use. The international community wants Iran to allow greater access for weapons inspectors to evaluate its claims.
