The dollar hit a seven-year low against the shekel.

The dollar hit a seven-year low against the shekel. The U.S.
currency was valued at 3.996 shekels Monday, the first time it has sunk
below the 4-shekel mark since 2000. Analysts noted the dollar’s international
slump as well as Israel’s strong economy.

The exchange rate is bad
news for Americans visiting Israel, though it has meant a frenzy of
spending on imports and real estate in the Jewish state.
