Israeli border police wounded two journalists while breaking
up a West Bank protest.
The border police fired stun grenades Thursday to break up a
women’s protest at a checkpoint outside Jerusalem.
That brings to five the number of journalists wounded in the last three months
in such incidents, the Associated Press reported.
The army says it strives to avoid journalists in such
cases, but notes that everyone must evacuate when an area is declared closed.
Journalists groups say they do not believe there is a deliberate policy of
targeting journalists, but believe that individual troops may at times do so.
