An Israeli art photograph fetched a record price at a New York auction. “Untitled (Last Supper)” a 5-by-3-foot tableau of Israeli soldiers seated around a table in an ironic homage to Leonardo da Vinci’s famous painting of Jesus and his disciples, was sold at Sotheby’s for $264,000 this week, more than three times its original projected price. Israeli media described the price as setting a new precedent for sales of local art. “Untitled (Last Supper)” was shot in 1999 by Israel’s Adi Nes and has been exhibited in Tel Aviv, San Diego and Chicago.
