Ehud Olmert met with an Anglo-Jewish delegation. The Israeli prime minister on Tuesday hosted representatives from the British United Jewish Israel Appeal who were visiting to encourage development of the Galilee. “Your decision to focus on assisting this part of the country is both correct and important; your influence on its development will be tremendous,” Olmert’s office quoted him as telling the group.”There are two areas in which we can do wonders the Negev and the Galilee. We must invest in both infrastructures and population, and this the government will do.” Olmert also had warm words for his British counterpart Tony Blair, calling him “a good friend of Israel.”
