The president of the Maccabiah World Union resigned more than three years after a bridge collapse at the Maccabiah Games killed four athletes and injured dozens of others. Ronald Bakalarz resigned over the weekend after a report produced by an Israeli Knesset committee said Israel should not finance the 2001 Games if he did not quit.
