Edgar Bronfman, vice president for American operations of Seagrams, Lid., announced yesterday that he was succeeding his late father. Samuel Bronfman, as president of the giant distillery, Bronfman, 42, said Seagrams will continue “to be generous contributors to the State of Israel”and to aid “other charities.” The late Samuel Bronfman. who died two weeks ago at the age of 80, was an outstanding philanthropist and ardent supporter of Israel. His younger son, Charles Bronfman, 40, will become executive vice president of the firm. A brother, Allan Bronfman, 75, will remain as vice president.
