A Knesset committee decided last night to discipline an Orthodox rabbi MK who spat on a Reform Prayerbook during a debate on the Law of Return amendment in the House last week. Rabbi Menachem Porush, of the Agudat Israel, will be barred from attending one Knesset plenum session for his behavior. Rabbi Porush apologized afterwards and asked that the matter be considered closed. But Speaker Reuben Market insisted that the House committee take disciplinary action against him.
