A plot to kill Foreign Minister Abba Eban during his visit to West Germany was brought to light today by Dr. Fritz Oberele, Police Chief of Karlsruhe. Dr. Oberele told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that the plot was revealed to police by a young Arab who telephone a superior for instructions while he was being interrogated. The call was monitored by police, but no action could be taken against the superior. Dr. Oberele said, implying that the latter enjoyed diplomatic immunity. He said the Arab who was questioned held three passports each in a different name and each issued by a different Arab country. He reportedly told police that the passports were prepared for use by the conspirators. He said the Arab told police of incriminating evidence in a baggage locker. It was subsequently found empty but there had been enough time to remove the contents, Dr. Oberele said.
