Mayor John V. Lindsay announced today the appointment of Marvin Schick as an Assistant to the Mayor specializing in intergroup relations. Mr. Lindsay said that Mr. Schick has just returned from a teaching assignment in Israel to accept the position. “While I can appreciate his desire to finish the year that he planned to be in Israel. I am pleased that he has come home to join the Administration,” Mr. Lindsay said.
Mr. Schick, 35, is a past president of the National Jewish Commission on Law and Public Affairs. He has also served on the executive committee of the National Community Relations Advisory Commission, as Chairman of the Communal Relations Commission of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, and as the representative at the United Nations of the American Civil Liberties Union.
