Sidney Buckwold was elected mayor of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, according to election reports reaching here today. He had served as mayor from 1958-1964 and resigned then to make an unsuccessful try in the federal elections. His victory was a narrow one, defeating the incumbent mayor by a majority of 196 in a total poll of nearly 30,000. Mr. Buckwold has long been active in Jewish communal life.
