President Arturo Illia today received a delegation of Jewish journalists of El Diario Israelita, a Yiddish-language daily, on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.
The delegation was headed by Mrs. Catalina Stoliar, publisher, and Jacob Glaser, editor of the newspaper and was accompanied by Gregorio Fainguersch, president of the Buenos Aires Kehilla. President Illia said that the creation of the newspaper 50 years ago proved that Jews had come to Argentina to establish themselves “firmly and creatively.” He stressed that Jews have the “grace of loyalty” to the countries where they live.
All Argentine newspapers, both general and Jewish, highlighted the anniversary and congratulations poured into the offices of the Yiddish newspaper.
