Israel officials reported today that Adolf Eichmann has informed one of the officers of the jail where he is held that he has completed writing his “Third Volume of Memoirs.” The former Gestapo colonel, awaiting a verdict on his trial last summer on charges of having master-minded the wartime Nazi slaughter of 6,000,000 European Jewish men, women and children, told the jailer that he plans to write several more volumes.

Two of Eichmann’s guards, both Oriental Jews, asked to be relieved of the assignment. They were understood to have told their superiors that after attending the trial and listening to the frightful testimony, they could no longer stand the sight of the defendant. Their request was approved.

The verdict of the three-judge court which heard the trial is expected to be handed down starting December 15. However, the verdict, which is expected to require six days of presentation, may be given before that date. Dr. Robert Servatius, Eichmann’s West German attorney, has indicated he expects a verdict of guilty and that he will appeal that verdict.
