Interdating between Jewish and non-Jewish youngsters was frowned upon here at a Jewish Youth Council Institute at Camp Le Foret as “a step toward intermarriage.”
Rabbi Richard Hirsch of Temple Emanuel, who warned against the practice, told the institute that dating was preparation for marriage and that interdating would lead to intermarriage. In discussion, however, a majority of the teenagers present saw no connection between dates they might have and intermarriage and wanted their parents to approve of interdating.
