The Union of Jewish Communities in Italy today sent a cable to President Eisenhower appealing for clemency for Julius and Ethel Rosenberg who are scheduled to be executed on Thursday.
(In Washington, the Supreme Court today rejected an appeal filed last Saturday to stay the Rosenbergs’ execution The Supreme Court earlier refused three times to review the case. Rosenbergs’ council announced in the afternoon that he will file for a right to defend the execution until the case can be further appealed.)
