Dr. Nissim Joseph Ovadia, 52, former chief rabbi of the Sephardic community in Paris, who came to this country after the collapse of France, died last night in the Peekskill, New York, Hospital, where he was taken after suffering a heart attack while visiting friends. He served as the chief rabbi of the Sephardic community in Vienna from 1916 until 1935, when he assumed his Paris post.
