Four new deaths among the several thousand Jews arrested in the round-up by the Gestapo (German secret police) were revealed today, while another family of four Jews committed suicide.
The wife of Dr. Robert Hecht, 48 years old, former Vice-Governor of the Austrian State Savings Bank, was notified that the banker, who had been imprisoned for several weeks had died suddenly at the Dachau concentration camp, near Munich.
Others who were announced to have died at Dachau were Fritz Pollatschek, 26, and Leopold Gross, 43, an ice cream manufacturer. Both of them, who had been arrested on May 28, had been sent to Dachau a week ago. Max Marion, 45, a merchant, who was also arrested in the current round-up, jumped from a second-floor window of the Karajongasse jail and was believed to have died later in a police hospital.
Heinrich Preminger, former director of the Mercur Bank, together with his wife and two children, eight and eleven years old, committed suicide in their home early today by taking poison.
