Disregarding repeated orders not to wear swastikas before issuance of special regulations, Nazi groups wearing swastikas and storm troops in brown shirts appeared on the streets of Vienna and in the provinces today. Small groups invaded the Jewish quarters, alarming the inhabitants.
While Fatherland Front groups arranged counter demonstrations, Zernatto, secretary general of the Front, tonight broadcast a warning to Nazis not to disregard the fact that certain things were forbidden. He declared that any factional illegal activity would mean rebellion against both Austria and Germany, and added that no one would be allowed to overstep the regulations issued by the Government.
An anti-Jewish demonstration was staged yesterday by several hundred Nazi students at Vienna University. The demonstrators shouted slogans and insults, but did not molest Jews.
