Deputy Chief Inspector John Harris today announced the intention of the police department here to ban meetings of whatever nature which are sponsored by Nazi or anti-Nazi groups in this city.
The announcement follows a similar decree published yesterday by the officials of the Irvington police department. In Irvington recently a Nazi meeting terminated in fisticuffs, a miniature riot, arrests and injury to many persons.
The local branch of the American League Against War and Fascism did, however, receive permission to hold a parade Saturday.
