With the statement that there are no poor Jews there, the municipal council of Bydgose, formerly Bromberg, Posen, refused to accept a $100,000 legacy of an American Jewish woman. The fund was provided by Mrs. Leonard Cohen of Wilkes-Barre, Pa. for “poor Jews” in the town.
