The early returns in the Jerusalem municipal elections, which came in late Friday afternoon, indicated a victory for the party of Nashishibi, the present incumbent of the mayoralty.

According to an election agreement, the Nashishibi party received the support of the Jewish voters. Two thirds of the votes have been counted up to Friday afternoon. Seventy percent were for Nashishibi.
