Sir Stuart Samuel, brother of Sir Herbert Samuel, former member of parliament, died here yesterday of heart failure.
Sir Stuart, who was at one time president of the Board of Jewish Deputies, headed the commission of inquiry sent by the British government to Poland to investigate the anti-Jewish excesses in 1919.
Sir Stuart was a member of the banking firm of Samuel Montagu and Company. He was born October 24, 1856. He was educated at Liverpool Institute and University College School, London. He is survived by his wife, the former Ida Mayer, and two daughters.
