<title>Comment to At least 139 of the Forbes 400 are Jewish</title>
      <link></link>
      <description>Jacob,

I appreciate that this is a challenging task if you aren't familiar with many of the persons on the Forbes list but at first glace it would appear that a lot of the people on the above list are not Jewish (even using the criteria you mention).

Here are the names on your list that I found surprising, excluding the ones with asterisks (read: whom I do not think are Jewish):

Riley P. Bechtel
Stephen D. Bechtel Jr.
George Lucas
Marianne Cargill Liebmann
Donald Schneider
John Catsimatidis
Margaret Whitman
John Arrillaga

Amongst those with asterisks, here is my take:

Charles Ergen -- Yes
Warren Stephens -- No
Mitchell Rales -- Yes
Steven Rales -- Yes
Steve Wynn -- Yes
William Gross -- Yes
John Morgridge -- No
Ken Fisher -- Yes
John E. Abele -- No
Joseph Mansueto -- No
A. James Clark -- No
Alan Gerry -- Yes (unsure)

The following people on the list above I think deserve additional explanation:

Larry Page (Jewish mother)
Steven Ballmer (Jewish mother)
Nicolas Berggruen (Jewish father)
Daniel Ziff, Dirk Ziff, Robert Ziff -- the brothers have a Jewish grandfather.

I am not sure about John Sperling, Peter Sperling, or Jeremy Jacobs Sr.

Names that could be missing from the above list include:

Ronald Burkle
Phillip Frost
Michael Moritz
Charles Zegar

Let me know if I can be of additional assistance.</description>
