Comment to Palestinian state in 2 years gets qualified Quartet nod

Et tu Obama? So here is the ultimate betrayal. A Palestinian State forced down Israel's throat regardless of Palestinian 'reciprocity' like ending terrorism, incitement in its schools, or recognizing Israel as a jewish State (i.e., Arab irredentism via a continued struggle for the right of return). The Quartet plays the Auschwitz death march.

It is precisely the closed minded liberal dribble displayed by Mr. Edwards and Mr. Weisbard that Irving Kristol so eloquently and effectively skewered but, unfortunately, this left wing nonsense has been resurrected and is now the order of the day. The U.S., Israel, and the world will once again pay a very heavy price for this intellectual obtuseness. Irving we will miss you.

This is absurd. Virtually no American Jews will see let alone understand this Hebrew ad appearing on Israeli T.V. What this shows is the incredible obtuseness of some American Jews like JJ Goldberg to hearing the unvarnished truth about the trajectory of US Jewry as its lunges to oblivion through an ineluctable process of assimilation. It's time to stop being in denial and to start to get real about the condition of American Jews.

"Death Panels" - an unfortunate use of inflammatory hyperbole. Nevertheless, so-called expert panels that provide guidance about the cost effectiveness of medical treatments relative to quality of life as previously suggested by Obama and as provided for in some of the legislation now under consideration is the first but important step toward a centralized allocation of what may well be life determining medical decisions. That's how it began in England and is now the de facto the way many of such decisions are carried. .

Comment to Op-Ed: GOP must repudiate Limbaugh or be defined by him

Mr. Rosensaft is quite selective in what constitutes adequate repudiation of bigots, racists and anti-Semites. Al Sharpton, a notorious race baiting liar and anti-Semite, is still considered a respectable voice in the Democratic Party. And how much courage did it take for Obama to characterize the anti-Semitic ravings of Reverend Wright as ridiculous and divisive and 'not based on the truth?' He could not bear to call out the Reverend he listened to for over 20 years by declaring him the racist he has always been. (Some residual sympathies, perhaps?) And I don't hear Rosensaft's repudiation of Obama for awarding the Medal of Freedom to Mary Robinson, the enabler of the notorious and vitriolic anti-Semitic Durban I conference. Rush Limbaugh's hyperbole pales by comparison to these favorites of the Democratic Party. I guess Rosensaft's '*hit" doesn't stink.

Sir, you are taking Israel's existence for granted by applying standards that are not only inapplicable to a state continuously facing mortal threats by enemies without and within but you also provide its enemies with ammunition to achieve their goal. One of America's greatest presidents, Abraham Lincoln, suspended civil rights during the Civil War to save the country. Had there been a equivalent New Israel Fund at that time, Mr. Lincoln would have arrested if not shot those carrying out the same kinds of seditious actions. And he would have been right. Just know this sir: If G-d forbid Israel were to perish, you will have been an accessory to the crime.

Next, Israel called the Arab bluff by withdrawing from Lebanon. Voila 2006 war with Hezbolla.

Next, Israel called the Arab bluff by vacating Gaza including 8,000 Israeli residents. Voila, Hamas fires 5,000 rocket attacks on Sderot and nearby Israeli communities leading to the Cast Lead war in 2008.

Comment to Weighing in on Gaza attacks, Part VI

(I'll try again.)
Liberal pundits like Cohen and Kristof are among those criticizing Israel for a 'disproportionate' reaction to the thousands of rockets shot by Hamas from Gaza in the direction of Israel's nearby civilian areas for the purpose of instilling terror and related traumas on the population by both lethal direct hits as well as misses. These journalists are both morally and intellectually confused. What is proportional? They do not say. Should Israel have shot back at random an equivalent number of missiles aimed at Gaza's civilian populations? And would it, even then, be alright only if the same number of casualties are inflicted (dead and wounded)? Was the American bombing and invasion of Afghanistan in response to 9/11 'disproportionate' because it killed and wounded far more than to the 3,000 murdered Americans that day? Or for that matter was the U.S. destruction of Japan (and Germany) in World War II an over-reaction to the attack on Pearl Harbor? What Cohen and Kristoff and their fellow traveling ilk consistently ignore is that the Jew-hating radical Islamists, including Hamas, are today's Nazis trying to kill as many Jews as they can, starting with Israel. And like the Germans who brought Hitler to power through a democratic process, Palestinians in Gaza elected Hamas whose agenda was well known. These Palestinians support Hamas in its murderous aspirations and have the same culpability as the German people bore for Nazism. There is no negotiating with Hamas, or any other radical Islamists. The only cure for the radical Islamist disease is the one that cleansed Germany and Japan. And like the Nazis, radical Islam may start with the Jews but does not stop there, as Al Qaeda (and Iran) have made very clear. Israel is defending all of western civilization today, including the delusional Cohens and Kristoffs of the world.

Comment to Political tidbits: Latest info on Obama foreign policy jobs, Chuck Schumer talks cereal

Most of these critics (e.g., Cohen, Kristoff, et.al.) seem to blame Israel for a 'disproportionate' response to Hamas's Islamist terrorism. They display moral and intellectual confusion as is apparent from their failure to offer what they deem would be an effective appropriate response. Should Israel simply respond to the random 7,000 missiles aimed by Hamas at their civilian population by responding in kind? After all, that would be 'proportional'. By that measure, the U.S. response to the bombing of Pearl Harbor by destroying Japan ( and Germany) was clearly disproportionate. Of course, the American response to the murder of 3,000 innocents on 9/11 with the bombing and invasion of Afghanistan is also completely disproportionate. These so-called intellectuals should wake up and recognize that Hamas and other radical Islamists are today's anti-Semitic Nazis and there is no alternative to destroying them. And just as the German people brought the Nazis to power through democratic elections and supported Hitler's agenda, so the Palestinians in Gaza have elected and support Hamas's murderous Jew hatred. The Palestinians deserve the same consideration that the Allies gave to the German people in World War II. Carter, Cohen, Kristoff, and the rest of their ilk are de facto Nazi (i.e., Hamas) sympathizers.

Comment to IPF clarifies on 'Settler Scourge'

The IPF's moral equivalency nonsense continues. IPF always blames Israel first while glossing over the non-stop Palestinian terrorist bent, only stopped or contained by effective Israeli countermeasures. Time to speak the truth for a change. The Palestinians do not accept Israel in its current borders or even behind the now sacred pre-67 borders. A simple thought experiment for IPF: No peace negotiations unless and until the Palestinians (including the P.A., Fatah, & Hamas) explicitly acknowledge that a final agreement rules out any 'right of return' to Israel's pre-67 borders. And until that occurs, the IPF and fellow travelers should refrain from blaming Israel for failed negotiations. Let the rest of the world, starting with the U.N., dump on Israel. They don't need any help from the IPF and other so-called Jewish supporters of Israel.
