Hey, "John Q. Public" -

Before casting aspersions at Republicans, recall these people:

Slick Willie
John Edwards
Jesse Jackson
Al Sharpton
Mayor Sheila Dixon
Congressman William Jefferson
James McGreevey
Sandy (Burglar) Berger
Councilwoman Monica Conyers
Kwame Kilpatrick
Barney Frank
Mel Reynolds

It seems the Republicans don't hold a corner on the market when it comes to unethical and immoral behavior.

If G-d forbid, any of my family members needed to be rescued from a raging fire,
I would want firefighters who are there because they're COMPETENT and QUALIFIED -- NOT because of their skin color, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation.

That goes for the people hired to repair the bridges my family and I drive over, build the planes and automobiles we travel in, perform medical tests we need, etc.

Is there anyone out there who doesn't want the same for THEIR family??

Comment to Synagogues working to be more open to gays

While perhaps it is sensitive that many synagogues are working to become more open to homosexual Jews, I can't help but wonder and ask where these same synagogues have been when it came to offering innovative and creative programs for Jewish singles who are heterosexual. With the rate of intermarriage through the roof, it would seem like a top priority.

When my husband was first divorced about 20+ years ago, he approached his then rabbi at a Reform synagogue in central Connecticut. The rabbi showed virtually no interest and never followed up with him. For the past several years, this same rabbi has been assiduously recruiting homosexual members for his temple. After all, many same-sex couples don't have children, which means the couples have more disposable income...

Excellent, cogent piece which I will forward to friends and family.

Oh, maybe Roger Cohen is right - we shouldn't categorize Hamas and Hezbollah as terrorists. I think we should call them the Mouseketeers.

As Mr. Hellman alluded to, I'd like to see Cohen's position after a Katusha rocket slams through his bedroom ceiling splashing his loved ones' body parts across the room. I think Cohen smoked too much pot in the 60s.

Comment to Dershowitz, ADL praise Hampshire College

M. Gersh said: "We are a college that takes pride in our students who are socially responsible. We don’t support the terrorist attacks or aggressive war. What we do support are the innocent people who have been caught in the cross fire. The people who have been cut off from proper resources like electricity, water, healthy levels of food."

The question isn't whether you support terrorist attacks. (No sane person does.) The question is: Have you spoken out against them???

Before accusing Israel of denying people electricity, water and healthy levels of food, visit these websites for factual information:

Just because a lengthy list of rabbis, Jewish scientists, and other Jewish notables supported Obama doesn't make those supporters right - and contrary to Mr. Stolow's assertion that we Jewish non-Obama supporters engaged in 'outright lies,' it's no lie that Barack and Michelle Obama were members of Jeremiah Wright's church for TWENTY years. (Yes, I know they left the church - when it was politically expedient.)

Surely not all of his associates - Bill Ayers, Rashid Khalidi, Khalid al-Mansour, Tony Rezko, Edward Said, and more - are merely tangential.

And I have to ask - What kind of First Lady spends her leisure time with the woman sitting front and center in this photo?:
