Posted in: Lieberman being sidelined as foreign minister

The French and other europeans and the USA prefer Barak and Livni because they are spineless. Lieberman is from a culture where they don't mind offending others by telling the truth as they see it. Diplomats deal in lies and ambiguities. Lieberman sets out his red lines and those who want to bully Israel into commiting national suicide to advance their own interests over Israel's grave prefer dealing with the glib jelly-back appeasers.

It is nonsense to pretend that Israel will sell USA technology to India when two USA companies are bidding for the same contract. What technologies do they use? Martian? It is obvious that the veto on sales is not about technology but about eliminating a competitor who makes a better product. Besides, if there is cooperation between USA and Israeli firms then they must be using some Israeli technologies. I am reminded that some years ago, the USA sold Saudi Arabia aerial refueling technology developed by Israel, ignoring Israel's objections. The USA couldn' t care less for Israel until it whipped the Arabs in '67, then made it a client state when de Gaulle turned on it. It is time Israel became independent in the manufacture of weapons, possibly on partnership with India. It has no Western "democratic" friends left.

In view of our history, Jews must have a place on earth where we can live in safety and continue to develop our culture. There is no contradiction between democracy and a state where Jews dominate because they are the majority. And if Jews need to bend the rules a bit to stay the majority, it is far better than the pogroms, expulsions, economic restrictions and massacres to which we have been subjected or the ethnic cleansings that are occurring in Burma, Darfur, Rwanada, and various South American countries. If the Arabs refuse to have Jews in a future Palestine, Israel should denaturalise Muslims in Israel unless they do national service. That way they could live and breed till they exhaust themselves, but they could not vote or claim state benefits.

I have no time for the heredim, but critics of their actions in this case need a bit of background. Anne Barker of the ABC is of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, not the USA's ABC. She has reproted in a most biased way on ME events and she has also reported falsely on April 23. After a complaint from the Australia/Israel Jewish Affairs Council, the ABC (Australia's equivalent to the USA's NPR) apologised. While I utterly deplore anyone spitting, if Barker was recognised as a hostile reporter, her presence would have been seen as provocative by people prone to uncivilised, indeed un-Jewish, behavior.

Well, at lest no lives were lost. But it it interesting to note that Mohammedans riot, burn, kill and assault others if anyone criticises their religion or shows lack of respect for their holy text. And then they set out to desecrate the holy texts of other religions. Their critics are smeared as Islamophobes. But if they offend others' beliefs, they are merely performing their religionious duties. Truly Islam is an ugly pseudo-creed! While clearly there are some good people who think of themselves as Muslim, the sad fact is that the categories of good person and good Muslim are mutually exclusive.
