That JTA would post the hateful, anonymous nonsense of "KSweet" is just one more sign of why unmonitored "Comments" pages have no place in legitimate journalism, just as no newspaper would run unsigned or pseudonymously signed letters to the editor, and no legitimate radio program would read unsigned and nonsensical comments over the air. Either open "Comments" only to people who sign their full and real names or don't bother with this invitation to kooks, infants, and slander-spreaders. The only truth in "KSweet"'s post is that President-Elect (and, as John McCain said himself so eloquently last night, the President-Elect of all Americans and John McCain's President-Elect) Obama's name is spelled correctly. This was probably an accident on "KSweet"'s part. Once again, the purveyors of falsehoods are those tiny number of right-wing Jews who each year persuade key members of the media that they actually speak for anyone other than themselves and are repudiated solidly by Jewish voters each time there is an election. They distort our Israel and Mideast policy. They give Jews a black eye on domestic issues. Why do we let groups such as the "Republican Jewish Coalition" and "columnists" such as William Kristol strut around without being challenged as to their dishonesty, foolishness, and, especially the fact they represent but a sliver of American Jewish opinion? Who ever believed the "pundits" that Obama would lag in the Jewish vote? Why would these hate-spreaders rather have Jews appear as racists and bigots than as the forward-thinking, serious, and open-minded people that they actually are? 78 percent -- in the face of all the lies and distortions spread about him! That makes one proud to be a Jew just as the overall election results are reason to be proud to be an American.
