Posted in: Time for a Jewish Couples Hall of Fame

Edmon, I'm seeking west coast Jewish couples who are willing to be interviewed and photographed for I Am My Beloved's: Jewish-American Couples Talk About Their Marriages. I would be grateful for any couples you refer. Shabbat shalom, David Cooper

Posted in: Poll: Most Israelis know Temple destroyed on Tisha B'Av

Do the majority of respondents want to scrap Rabbinic Judaism and return to a cult of priests, shelve the service of the heart and return to animal sacrifices? Without the destruction of the Temple there would be no Yavne, no Mishna, no Gemorah, no Tosefot, no Midrashic literature, no commentaries, no sophisticated civilization into which Judaism has evolved over the past two millennia. Are the majority of poll respondents really Neo-Sadducees?

Posted in: New program to train Orthodox women as non-rabbis (UPDATED)

Calling a woman rabbi a maharat is like calling a same sex marriage a civil union: separate is implicitly unequal. When Weiss and his congregation are ready to embrace full gender equality they will find a welcoming home in the Conservative movement.

It would have been be helpful had you included a link to the advertisement in question so that readers could decide for themselves whether or not it is sexist.
