It is unfortunate that the JTA refers to the Neturei Karta as "Jews," let alone as "fervently orthodox." These are the folks who happily attended Iran's Shoa denial conference and are routinely feted by Jew-hating Arab dictators. Are Jews for Jesus Jews, too? What about Messianic Jews and Black Hebrew Israelites? If they meet with Hamas baby killers are they speaking for the Jews? JTA is an excellent publication and service, but, perhaps it could reconsider the headline here. Seth Salinger

"The Jewish Yoke" "The Zionist-Controlled Congress" "Conspirators with divided loyalties." The words of Henry Ford? Charles Lindbergh? Father Coughlin? Amy Semple McPherson? No. These are sentiments from Americans posting about Freeman on March 12, 2009 in the NYT. A quick review of the posts confirms that the overwhelming majority of writers share these views. Perhaps the it's time to re-think public and voracious campaigns against Israel critics. The dangerous perception that Jews have a stranglehold is not only growing -- it's getting more acceptable in polite society.
