Posted in: Madoff scandal rocks Jewish philanthropic world
I hope the consequences of Mr. Madoff's alleged actions are better than I fear they may be. This is about the worst Chillul Hashem I have ever heard of, other than perhaps murder. Coming from an observant and good, decent, charitable person I am ashamed of these supposedly religious Jews who act against all standards of decency. Non-scientific poll: Do the JTA readers think this alleged fraud or the allegations against Agriprocessors constitute a greater Chillul Hashem (desecration of G-d's name)?

No, rather than let this case go dormant, they need to drop all charges. It is a trumped-up case and should never have been brought in the first place. I certainly hope Obama and Holder will do the right thing here.
