Organizers of this year's Hazon Jewish food conference decided to slaughter and produce the meat served to participants -- which meant finding a local turkey farm and convincing the farmer to allow a bunch of Jews in to slaughter, pluck, eviscerate, soak, salt and package enough turkeys for about 500 people.
