PrintNew Yorker indicted for agreeing to arm Hezbollah
NEW YORK (JTA) -- A New York resident and an accomplice were indicted for allegedly agreeing to supply weapons to Hezbollah.
Patrick Nayyar, 45, of Queens and Conrad Stanisclaus Mulholland, 43, each were charged on four counts in the indictment handed down Monday by a Manhattan federal grand jury.
The charges include agreeing to sell weapons, ammunition, vehicles and tactical supplies to an FBI informant representing himself as a member of Hezbollah, which the United States labels as a “Foreign Terrorist Organization.”
Nayyar was in custody on Tuesday, while Mulholland is believed to be in Britain, according to reports.
The meetings between the indicted men and the informant took place between July 2008 and September 2009.
Nayyar, an immigrant from India, was arrested Sept. 24 on an illegal alien firearms and ammunition possession charge, according to a U.S. Justice Department news release.
