Gaza rocket hits Ashkelon shopping center
A rocket fired from Gaza hit a shopping center in Ashkelon, injuring at least 31 people.
Five Israelis were in moderate-to-serious condition, including a mother and her baby daughter, Israel’s Channel One reported.
The Russian-made Grad rocket struck a children’s health clinic on the third floor of the Hutzot mall. Islamic Jihad and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine both claimed responsibility for the attack.
The attack was launched as Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and U.S. President George W. Bush concluded a meeting in Jerusalem during which Olmert said Israel would not tolerate attacks from Gaza.
