Talansky reportedly paid Olmert’s hotel tab

The businessman tied to the Ehud Olmert probe reportedly paid Olmert’s nearly $5,000 hotel tab for a one-night stay in Washington.

 

Morris Talansky had a minibar company he worked with in 2005 pay the $4,717.49 Ritz-Carlton hotel bill for “a senior Israeli cabinet member that had no relation to the business,” according to New York court documents cited by The New York Times.

 

The company’s lawyer told the Times that the hotel guest was Olmert. He also said he did not know if Olmert knew who paid the bill.

 

Olmert is being investigated in Israel on accusations that he took large bribes from Talansky, a Long Island, N.Y., resident who also owns a home in Israel.

 

Olmert, who has said the money was all legal campaign donations, said May 8 that he would resign if indicted.
