Flights to Israel buckle up

Air passengers to Israel will have to fasten seatbelts half an hour before landing under new counterterrorism rules.

Israeli aviation security officials said this week that all incoming airlines have been given orders to confine passengers to their seats when the plane is 180 miles from Tel Aviv.

The move comes amid heightened security in the Jewish state for fear Hezbollah will launch hijackings or other terrorist attacks to avenge the assassination last week of its terrorist operations chief, Imad Mughniyeh.
