Trial date set for ex-AIPAC staffers

A federal judge set Jan. 14 as the trial date for two former AIPAC staffers facing charges of receiving classified information.

The trial date set Tuesday by Judge T.S. Ellis was at least the fifth since Steve Rosen, the America Israel Public Affairs Committee’s former foreign policy chief, and Keith Weissman, its former Iran analyst, were indicted in August 2005.

The trial has been delayed by prosecutors concerned over declassifying evidence, but the judge indicated that his patience was running thin.

“It’s time to get the job done,” Ellis said.
