A third Jewish member joined Australia’s New South Wales Parliament. The Australian Jewish News reported that John Kaye of the Greens NSW won election to Parliament in elections Saturday, joining Green colleague Ian Cohen and Labor Roads Minister Eric Roozendaal.Kaye told AJN that the boosted Greens NSW presence would contribute to parliamentary debate on Jewish and Israeli issues. Local Jewish leaders, however, expressed concern, as the party has been criticized in the past for its soft stance on Palestinian terrorism.
