Senate presses OECD on Israel

By · May 4, 2007

The U.S. Senate overwhelmingly voted to urge the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development to accept Israel as a member. Israel currently has an associate relationship with the OECD – which brings together the world’s top 30 earning nations to consult on economic and development policy – and is being considered for full membership. The non-binding Senate resolution passed Thursday was proposed by two Jewish senators, Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) and Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.).
