Two Israeli yachtsmen, Shimshon Bruckman and Eytan Friedlaender, of Sdot Yam, have won the European championship in the 420-class boat contest held in Dublin. The six-course race was held last week with the winners being decided on Saturday. Two French teams were second and third in the race. It is the first time Israel won the European championship in this class. In another sports development, the Israeli girls basketball team lost 96-36 to the Czech team in the first European championship for cadets (up to age of 17) held in Poland.
