A funeral service for Dr. William Kolodney, the former educational director of the 92nd Street YM-YWHA, was held yesterday. He died Sunday at the age of 76. Dr. Kolodney retired in 1969 after 35 years as the Y’s educational director, during which he made the Y a home for the arts, especially poetry reading, chamber music and modern dance. Before coming to New York, he was an education director of the YM-YWHA in Pittsburgh. Born in Minsk, Russia, he was brought to the United States as a child. He graduated from New York University and received his doctorate from Columbia University.
