A Government-appointed committee will investigate the power failure and breakdown of other public services that paralyzed Jerusalem during last week’s severe snow storm, Minister of Development Moshe Kol announced in reply to a question in the Knesset (parliament) last night. In addition, the Knesset’s interior committee will take up the general stoppage of municipal services during the snow storm when it meets again.
More than 12 inches of snow fell on Jerusalem early last week and while most of it has since melted, some buildings in the city are still without electric power and fallen trees still block some roads.
