Andre Meyer, a Jewish investment banker, has given $2,500,000 to New York University for a new physics building, the university announced yesterday.
The new structure, for which no construction date has yet been set, will be named the Andre and Bella Meyer Hall of Physics. The investment banker said he had chosen NYU for the gift because he was a trustee of the university. Preliminary plans call for lecture and seminar rooms, laboratory and faculty offices and other facilities.
